Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the GSA Board. We have almost made it through another year.

Starting the 1st of January 2012 the GSA office hours will be changing. The office will be open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday it will still be 9:00 am to noon. During the week our lunch hour will stay the same 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

The BVL and Jr/Adult Tournaments are finished for another year. Participation was down but not by too much. We will be sending a little over $6000 as the Association donation to BVL. Thank you bowlers.

The Susan G Komen fundraiser is canceled for this year. There is too much bad press about it right now. It seems that too much money was going to the people that run it and not enough going into breast cancer research. There are a lot of breast cancer fundraisers still going on but they are not using the Susan G Komen name. We will have to figure out our next move.

The Masters Tournament is going to be moved to another date probably sometime after the Open Tournament is finished. As soon as we get the new date finalized we will let you know.

If the tournament entries for our tournaments do not pick up, next year we may only host the tournaments we have to conduct. Those are the Open, the Women’s and the Youth City. Being a senior it hurt me to cancel the Senior Tournament again. Maybe people are bowling too many other tournaments and don’t have time or money for ours. Next year the women will be bowling their National Tournament in Reno.

Right now the membership is still down from last year. Hopefully this downward spiral will bottom out and we can maintain an even keel. It is happening all across the US. Just about every association I have contact with say their membership is down too.
